without you i am nothing.

not that i wouldn’t exist, but that i would be just another cell in the ocean of batteries which fuels this infinite, infernal machine and perpetuates the monster and its humming and spinning; allowing it to do whatever it does that keeps the weeds growing and the trash in the street and the sky just a shade or two off from natural.

my accomplishments are perfectly mediocre without you. my dreams are comfortably stowed away on the top shelf in the closet under some old shoe boxes full of photos and stacks of empty photo albums.

my life is sanitized, cataloged, shelved and boring without you.
